Online Florida Educational Partners
The following school districts, community colleges or universities currently
(as of June, 1999) have a homepage of information available via the Internet.
In some cases, there are also links that include information pertinent
to adult, vocational and community education, workforce readiness, and
literacy providers. You will find direct links to the following when the
information was available:

District Technology Plans that impact adult & community educators or
even literacy providers;

District URL's in Florida
Alachua county has a Technology Plan for the District (http://www.sbac.edu/district/techplan.html).
Check and see if VACE is mentioned in the plan. Take a look at the URL:

. This page includes a link to how you and yours can get free computers
for your learners as well as a lot of other valuable resource information
related to purchasing equipment.
Bay County's Community Education home page.
Home page for Brevard County. A number of individual schools linked. Check
to see if there is any evidence of VACE involvement.
Broward County URL: http://www.browardschools.com/main.htm
Collier County District site. Has a specific link for Adult Education information
(http://www.naples.net/educate/adulted/zadlted.htm).
Also has information on Vocational offerings (http://www.naples.net/educate/votech/votech.htm)
with class schedules for adult basic education, child care instruction,
literacy training, etc.
Home page for Dade County. A large number of individual schools on the
web. Extensive information on multicultural programs available (URL: http://dcps.dade.k12.fl.us/www/inst/multcult.html)
Some innovative programs involving school-to-home connections that could
be adapted for VACE. URL: http://dcps.dade.k12.fl.us/www/inst/h_school.html.
Also has a graph reporting the state-of-affairs regarding computers available
per student. Such information needs to be recorded statewide, specifically
related to adult students.
Duval County School District has a hiome page and has an Applied Technology
homepage (URL: http://www.duval.k12.fl.us/atcd/index.htm).
Saw no direct links to adult or community education.
Home page for Lee County School district. One Tech center has a home page
(URL: http://www.lee.k12.fl.us/nvt/).
The District has a large number of individual schools with homepages.
Leon County School District has a large number of schools online and anticipates
all schools to be online by 1998 (URL: http://www.leon.k12.fl.us/DistrictServer/Schools/Index.html).Their
technology plan is online (URL: http://www.leon.k12.fl.us/DistrictServer/Technology/TechPlan/Index.htm)
Excellent list of resources and links are available on Okaloosa School
Districts homepage, including information as to how K-12 schools can get
assistance in building web pages through Microsoft (URL: http://207.22.231.50:80/fetc/home.htm).
Links available to Okaloosa Walton Community College and to Adult Education
department(URL: http://www.owcc.cc.fl.us/tech_ed/abe.html)
Great example for other community colleges to follow or other school districts.
Also has links to other colleges in the area.
Orange County School district's site appears k-12 oriented. Has an extensive
list of web sites in Florida in business, education, etc., of particular
use to families living in Florida.
There is a workforce-realted page at URL: http://www.ocps.k12.fl.us/workforce/.
For speakers of other languages, there is a a specific site at URL:
http://www.ocps.k12.fl.us/registre/.
Osceola has a number of web sites for individual k-12 schools within the
district. So no evidentce of adult, vocational or community education.
Palm Beach Schoos has a link for adult and community education in the district.

Great example of what all VACE programs could set up as a starting point.
Pasco County has a number of individual schools with web pages. See URL:

for information about career, vocational and adults programs..
Pinellas has one vocational education site that is online. Little information
was available as to what programs are actually offered at the site.
Putnam has a homepage, but so no listing of VACE sites.
St.John's District has a couple of technical sites that appear to be in
process of loading information. What was St.Augustine Technical Center
is now a Charter School, First Coast Technical Center. An extensive listing
of courses is available on one of the pages (URL: http://www-satc.stjohns.k12.fl.us/)
St. Lucie District has a web site. No mention of VACE programs.
The "museum and galleries" page under the cybersschool is a wonderful site
for any age learner. this can be found at URL: http://www.scps.k12.fl.us/cyberschool/cyberschool.htm#Museums
and Galleries. Techies and want-a-be techies should go to Browser Central
and download some software or other tools for your use at URL: http://www.scps.k12.fl.us/site/browser%20central.htm.
Volusia District has all schools listed with basic information about location
and contact. Some schools at lower levels have well-developed web pages.
Saw no VACE programs.

Florida Atlantic University's College of Education has several sites of
interest to adult educators, community educators and literacy providers.
