The 1999 Exemplary Award Winners
The ACENET Exemplary Award
recognizes unique and innovative adult and community education programs
available for adoption by adult, community, and literacy administrators/teachers
in Florida and beyond. Its primary function is to provide adult education,
community education, and literacy administrators/teachers with quality
information and thus enable providers to
efficiently and effectively
meet the educational needs of the adult citizens of Florida. ACENET is
committed to identifying exemplary programs and best practices, disseminating
high quality information, and facilitating the adoption of best educational
practices.

The 1999 ACENET - IDEAL "Community"
Awards
The ACENET - IDEAL Community
Award was created in recognition of communities, counties, or districts
which through collaborative efforts addressed the specific needs of their
communities and their residents. Evidence of this achievement is
noted by:
1) a series of multiple established
unique and innovative programs;
2) a concerted effort to
recognize and address diverse needs across disciplines, in multiple locations
with interagency linkages;
3) use of a problem-solving
approach that extends past the school environment into employment, health,
crime and recreational arenas.

The 1999 Most Promising Programs
The Most Promising Program
Award is given when a program is viewed as unique and innovative, but is
lacking in documented outcomes or has not been in existence for an extended
time period necessary for exemplary status. These projects are encouraged
to reapply for exemplary status at a later date or after documented results
can be shown.
